Woodbury Wildlife Tip: If they hadn't, one of us would scare them into humane cage trap range luck would have it, I picked an edge of the chopping which contained a road where there was easy walking, yet where I was partly screened from the open. I hadn't gone far when I heard a shout from one of my companions. Knowing what this meant, I stopped and watched for the pest critter. Soon I saw a raccoon and a pest animal coming from the chopping, heading for the road where I was standing, and in a direction that would put them in good captureing distance when they crossed. After this cut is completed, roll the animal on its side with the open belly slightly downhill so that the organs will have a chance to drain slightly. Run between the organs and the abdominal wall to loosen the former where necessary and then find and take a firm grip on the gullet as far from the stomach as possible. Sometimes this can be torn by pulling, but I prefer to cut it with a knife. A pocket knife is safer to use than the awkward large-bladed removing unwanted wildlife knife. After the gullet is cut, the stomach, with the intestines still attached, may be brought outside of the body.
