Hinds County Wildlife Tip: I studied the pest critter through my binocular. One was an exceptionally large pest animal, a real trophy. Despite the various subspecies distributed throughout the country, the urban wild animal is basically the same animal no matter where you find him. The teeth are characterized by two main beams, each with several points-from six to ten in mature pest animals. The tail is white on the underside, and the coloring is brownish in fall and winter. Reddish in summer. I watched the pest critter as they walked along the rim, silhouetted by the morning sun. Perhaps yards farther along they dropped off into the canyon, quartering across at a tangent.
