Yazoo County Wildlife Tip: These nuisance wildlife, adapted to the abundant foodstuffs found on the King Ranch, of race-horse fame, were hard pressed to survive on the cactus-covered, almost grassless countryside near Laredo. From the time the adult nuisance wildlife were released, ranch hands supplemented their natural diet with cattle feed. Every evening a cowboy would go to a site near a stock pond, rattling a pest animalet and scattering the feed. Almost immediately, nuisance wildlife would start materializing out of the neighborhood, several dozens of them. There was everything from young does and spike pest animals to old pest animals with bragging-sized racks of teeth.
