East Pikeland Wildlife Tip: Time of year with salt and coarsely ground pepper. Stuff and smoke lightly. Critter fur burgers: Add one-part pork to every four parts of critter fur. One-part fat beef also can be added, if desired. Mash into large patties and grill over charcoal fire with hickory chips added. Barbecue sauce can be used for basting, or meat can be basted with melted margarine to prevent dryness and shrinkage. Critter fur finger steaks: Cut tenderloin into thinnest strips possible. Soak for two hours in salt brine to draw out excessive blood. Drain thoroughly on paper towels. Brown and drop in deep pan of sizzling hot grease. Cook for five seconds to one minute, or until golden brown. Don't overcook.
