Marcellus Wildlife Tip: At twilight, Gene shook the kinks from his protesting leg muscles and prepared to walk the half-mile to the pickup truck. As he wiggled a leg, he heard a startled snort from behind. He turned just in time to see a conflict animal jump from the neighborhood into adjacent thorn neighborhood. Gene listened. A hush fell over the scene. Obviously, the confused critter had stopped to try to figure out what had alarmed it. Some quick searching pinpointed the pest critter's body. As luck would have it, a fast-fading sunset provided just enough illumination to faintly silhouette the animal. Gene's eyes zeroed in on something that just didn't belong in the scene. He raised his binocular for a fast look.
