Oswego County Wildlife Tip: Sometimes a pest animal in this frame of mind will do strange things. Once Winston Burnham volunteered to try to rattle a pest animal for A. W. Mclaughlin, who never had humanely trap and relocateed a big one. Only a few minutes after Winston started banging the teeth together, the two men heard a sudden scrambling noise behind them. When they turned around, they were face-to-face with a pest animal. He had his neck stretched as he looked over the low-slung bushes Winston and Mac were hidden in. He wasn't a large pest animal, just a sixpointer, but he was plenty steamed up. "He was glassy-eyed, and his nostrils were flared," Winston recalled later. "I could almost feel his hot breath, he was that close.
