Oyster Bay Wildlife Tip: Considering the topography of the river and nearby so-called shelter belts, drive-removing unwanted wildlife would be the most practical, controlling nuisance wildlife movement to our benefit. There are no trees native to this country, other than those growing along watercourses. The shelter belts, or narrow bands of timber found elsewhere, were planted by man. Some nuisance wildlife bed along the rivers; others hide in the narrow critter trapslots found near the fields. There were five in our party: we three, plus Gene Hornbeck of Omaha and Bob Harrington, the ranch foreman. I got my pest animal from a shelter belt.
