Groundhogs or woodchuck belongs to rodent family and large group of squirrels called marmots. They are known for their unique life style called whistle-pig or land-beavers. Groundhogs can burrow their underground tunnels 500 feet with two to five entrance holes and they use these several holes to escape in time of danger.
Why groundhogs are annoying?
Mostly groundhogs live solitary life in their burrow but live in community to form colony. They are herbivore rodents. And feed themselves on grass, dandelion, fruits, and berries. They built their burrows near scavenging area. They can be destructive for your property. If Knoxville groundhogs built near your backyard with lawn or lawn they can cause real damage to your cultivation. Woodchuck or groundhogs are most active in spring season and mild warm days.
